Helpful Q&A
What is Food City?
Food City is a project by the Serving Our Communities Foundation. It started with one big question: How can we redesign food systems to serve everyone, especially those facing the biggest challenges? We listened to 1,500 people, including farmers, policymakers, and business owners, to understand the issues. We found a broken system that doesn’t meet the needs of many communities. Now, we’re working to create a fairer and more sustainable food system by focusing on the people most affected.
What is Food City’s goal?
We want to build a region where everyone—neighbors, farmers, and change-makers—works together for a fair and sustainable food system. Our focus is on ensuring everyone has access to healthy, affordable, and culturally appropriate food.
